No. Tipping is discouraged as we feel it would compromise our famously friendly atmosphere. Instead, a service charge of 10% is added to your bill at the end of your stay. If, however, you would like to further reward our staff, please consider making a tax-free contribution to the Old Road Fund, our nonprofit foundation that benefits the local town, Old Road, and its worthiest causes.
We like to describe the atmosphere at Curtain Bluff as ‘casual elegance.’ Shorts, shirts and cover-ups are recommended for breakfast at the Tamarind restaurant and lunch at the Seagrape. For dinner service, some guests like to dress to the nines, but it’s not a requirement. At a minimum, we ask gentlemen to wear long pants (trousers) and a collared polo shirt. In summer (June 1st onward), children under 12 are permitted to wear smart shorts and polos in the Tamarind Restaurant.
High-speed WiFi is available in all rooms and the library. There are two dedicated media rooms with a total of five computers, free Internet access, and phones, plus a sitting area and wide-screen televisions with DVD players, cable and dish networks. Please note that at the request of our guests, there are no TVs in the rooms.
We love welcoming young guests and have developed most of the resort’s programming with families in mind. All of our activities are child-friendly and babysitters are available for hire. Our TV/games room is a great spot for our younger guests to gather, play computer games, and browse the internet.
