If you’re one of those people that sees true beauty in a hibiscus arnottianus or a bougainvillea peruviana, then be sure to explore our gardens and back-of-house nurseries. Led by our head gardener, Ezra, tours leave from the lobby every Wednesday at 10:30 AM.
On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays our experienced aqua-aerobics instructor, Samantha, leads hour-long classes in our swimming pool
Join our expert instructor Girlette who is certified in Ashtanga Vinyasa, Hatha and Iyengar Yoga. Get into good habits and join our yoga classes start at 8:00 AM on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays and start your mornings off right with some Sun Salutations and Downward-facing Dogs on a peaceful, open-air deck overlooking the sea.
Come and rock your days on Tuesdays and Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 AM, stretch the core and tighten the abs by doing some stimulating Pilates exercises enjoying the view of the sea.
Jason, our personal fitness trainer will take you on a power walk every Tuesday and Thursday morning through the village. Perfect early morning workout to jump-start your fitness routine for the day.
Our four resident pros — Jason, Candia, Nigel, and Dillo — are trained in the U.S. to teach aptitudes right up to 5.5 (nearly a pro) and ready at 7:00 AM to take a guest’s challenge, pair guests together for a game, or work on that backhand. Private lessons cost $US 90 per hour, $45 per half hour. Their enthusiasm and gentle manner are the reasons that many of our guests call our tennis program the best in the region.
PRIVATE YOGA/PILATES AND MEDITATION CLASSES
Prolong the benefits of good yoga and pilates by booking your very own private lessons with our certified instructor. Girlette is certified by the Mathatitu Yoga Ashram in India and has earned her 200 hours Yoga Teacher Training Program. Let Girlette help you to vastly improve both body and mind.
Every Tuesday morning our Executive Chef, Christophe Blatz leads hands-on cooking classes (limited to 10 people or less). Explaining such culinary creations as lobster risotto or red snapper on a bed of local vegetables in a light reduction broth, the classes cost $US 70 and include lunch and a specially selected bottle of wine from our cellar.
Curtain Bluff Chefs, use only fresh fruits, vegetables, and herbs so that her creations are always delicious and healthy. Ingredients can vary class to class… depending on the season and what the local market has to offer… (Snapper, Lobster, Wahoo, Mahi-Mahi, etc..) so each class always has its own flair.
The food is mouthwatering and the hostess knowledgeable and entertaining… all combining to create a unique and enriching experience.
We recommend our classes for those who love food, like to cook, live to eat, relish a good drink, savor the rich colors and enjoy spending time with friends and meeting new people…
This class includes chef-supplied recipes, step-by-step instructions, and generous samplings of select wines.
The cooking classes will be given by Chef Christophe Blatz and Executive pastry chef Maurine.
Curtain Bluff has one of the finest wine cellars in the Caribbean, with over 25,000 bottles priced between $US 40 and $US 2,000. Over the past year, we have expanded our subterranean cellar and added a tasting area so guests can enjoy the wines in context. Tastings take place in the cellar on Thursday afternoons ($US 70 per person).
