Pleasure Meets Business, Business Meets Pleasure

Curtain Bluff is well known as a vacationer’s paradise, one of the top resorts in the Caribbean (according to readers of Condé Nast Magazine, not just us). But did you know that it’s also the perfect destination for business retreats and incentive trips?

Today’s meeting planners are turning away from the large cookie-cutter resorts with their nametag anonymity and one-size-fits-all service. They are searching instead for smaller resorts with distinctive character and personalized service. Curtain Bluff is an obvious choice given its direct-flight access, fully inclusive pricing and no-tipping policy (the end cost is always predictable), club-like atmosphere, and world-class facilities including a top-notch spa and tennis center.

As a 72-room boutique resort, Curtain Bluff is the ideal size for an intimate business group. It’s small enough for first-name friendliness and individual attention (by the second day the bar tender knows how you take your rum punch). Yet the resort is big enough that a business group can have its own space away from the other guests and still not be crowded.

Upon request, Wendy Eardley and her capable events team, will put together a highly customized itinerary, building it around our fully equipped meeting space, spa visits, tennis clinics, sunset sails, fishing trips, rum tastings, cooking classes, private dinners down at the beach restaurant, cocktail parties at the Bluff House, the home of Curtain Bluff’s owner. Off-property activities range from island tours to ziplining, snorkeling with stingrays and exploring the old naval fortress, Nelson’s Dockyard, at English Harbour.

Curtain Bluff welcomes all sizes of groups up to 140 people. The larger groups have the all-resort-buy-out option that essentially gives them their own resort. To ensure the highest level of service, the resort never hosts more than one group at a time.

Curtain Bluff’s success is best summed up by Robert Culbert, founder and CEO of Culbert Healthcare Solutions, who brought 60 members of his team to the resort last spring.

“The moment our group arrived at Curtain Bluff everyone said “Wow!” The resort is gorgeous!” The staff was so friendly and eager to make sure we had an incredible experience,” he wrote. “Our group loved the intimate feel of Curtain Bluff since it was not a big resort but at the same time thoroughly enjoyed the wide variety of options from the ocean and bay beaches to snorkeling and sailing and, my favorite, the wine-cellar tasting. We loved meeting the many repeat visitors to Curtain Bluff who were so delighted we picked Curtain Bluff for our special trip. Everyone fell in love with the resort and the staff and everyone unanimously gave two thumbs up to going back to Curtain Bluff for a future trip. We can’t thank Curtain Bluff enough for wowing our very best employees.
